• Creating Your Own Challenge

We added technology this year to will allow participants to set up their own Challenges. Our intent was that this would be a way to keep people engaged and make the site useful after the 100-Day Challenge, and we expect it to be a very useful year-round tool.

However, we have found it to be a bit difficult to use and recently restructured the challenge portion of the website. All challenges without participants have been removed – if you choose to do so, you can click on the “My Lighten Up! Personal Dashboard” button and then on “My Challenges” to create a new challenge. You may also join additional challenges by clicking on the "Join A Challenge" button.

Below we've outlined Challenges and Goals and answered the most frequently asked questions about challenges.

Challenges
Creating a challenges allow you to invite other people to participate. Some examples of customized challenges would be an internal company  wellness challenge, a friends and family wedding challenge, or a public challenge to prepare for the Badger State Games.

Personal Goals
To set a personal goal for yourself, such as exercise 1000 minutes this month, lose 5lbs or eat 5 servings of vegetables per day, go to your "My Lighten Up! Personal Dashboard" and click on the " Lighten Up Goals" button to view and update your personal goals. From this screen you can set up goals for weight, activity minutes, calories burned or other.

Question: My team has decided that we would all like to lose 5lbs by the end of the month. How do we do that?
Answer:  
Common goals and working alongside friends is beneficial to obtaining success. If you and your team agree upon a common goal we suggest you each set a personal goal and open your records to the members of your teams to assist in keeping each other accountable. In addition, you can use the team message board and private messages to discuss progress and encourage one another.

Question: My sister is getting married in June and the wedding party wants to challenge each other to get in better shape. How do we do that?
Answer: Go to your "My Lighten Up! Personal Dashboard", Click on the "My Challenges" button and select the "Challenges I created" tab. To add a new challenge, click on "Add a New Challenge" in the blue bar under the tab. Fill out the challenge information and click submit. The challenge will show up listed on your "Challenges I created" tab and allow you to Register and/or Send Invites to join your challenge.

Question: I am a company administrator and my company missed the start of the Lighten Up 100 day Challenge and we'd like to do our own challenge. Can we do that?

Question: How do I follow the progress and results of my challenge?
Answer:
You can view the progress of your challenge by going to the Leaderboard. The Leaderboard can be tailored to show results for challenges that you created, as well as any challenge that you participated in, both past and present. To view the Leaderboard for a different challenge, select from the list of challenges in the drop down located below the page title.
