Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dates for Lighten Up Wisconsin?
The 100-Day Challenge runs from January 19 - April 29, 2010.  Individuals and organizations can contact Lighten Up to set up their own customized challenge at any time.

How much does Lighten Up Wisconsin cost?
Registration for Lighten Up Wisconsin is $16 per person.

What does my fee include?
Your fee includes unlimited use of the LUW Web site, featuring an online training log, weight tracking, personal goal setting and tracking, personal journal, team message board, discussion forum, exercise and nutrition tips, weekly prize challenges, healthy recipes, and links to health and fitness resources. All participants will also receive a Headsweats training cap.

Who can be on my team?
Your team can consist of any combination of coworkers, family members, friends, or others. If your employer is sponsoring your participation, ask if your team can include non-employees. Your team must consist of 2-10 participants.

Can I be on more than one team?
You can only be on one team’s roster. You can, however, be the captain of more than one team.

When will we get the weekly tips, recipes, and challenges?
Each week of the 100-Day Challenge, we will email and post a new nutrition tip, fitness tip, healthy recipe, and weekly challenge on our Web site at www.lightenupwisconsin.com. These items will be viewable only by participants who log in using their username and password. An archive of information from previous weeks will be kept on the Web site. If you do not want to receive the weekly tips via email, you may change your email settings in your profile.

How do I keep track of my weight and activity and log other personal information?
When you log in to www.lightenupwisconsin.com, you will be able to access your personal dashboard where you can log your current weight and minutes of physical activity as often as you would like. This information will be kept private but will add to your team’s totals. On your personal dashboard, you can also make journal entries, track food and water intake, set and track your personal goals and send messages to your teammates.

How often do I need to report my weight and/or activity?
You can report as often as you would like, but we ask that you report at least once per calendar month. The Leader Board will update itself in real time as participants enter their information.

What if I do not have Internet access?
If at least one team member has Internet access, that person can print and share the weekly tips and recipes and report activity and/or weight for his or her teammates. If no one on the team has Internet access, please contact us at (608) 226-4780 for special arrangements.

What happens if a team member quits?
Team captains may delete a team member if they no longer want to participate. The deleted team member’s weight and minutes of activity will be removed from the team’s totals.

Can I add a person to my team?
Team captains may add team members. The new member’s current weight will be added to previous team totals, but no previous minutes of activity may be added for that person.

When will we get our T-shirts?
In 2010, participants will receive Headsweats training caps instead of t-shirts.  They were sent out in March.
